Venue :- Red Lightship at Whiterock

Time :- Meet at 9.00 on the water 9.30

Weather:- Fine as today , possibly more cloud

Clothing :- Old clothes that you don't mind getting wet and a change in case you do, hiking gear is more that adequate. As Kevin pointed out it would be really "cool" to go swimming so that's not on the menu.

Bring your own buoyancy aid

"One blade good , two blades bad."

Sounds fun. See you at the lightship. Haven't got a canoe of my own.

On our behalf, I would like to thank

The Organiser - Richard Lineham

Trainers - Richard Lineham (Advance Group), John Cunningham (Beginners' Group) and David Smith (Mixed Group).

Many thanks for those who brought the boats and most of all special thanks for David who kindly brought a fleet of boats.

It was a perfect day with sunshine & GENITAL RAPID, brilliant instruction from all three instructors, two PRs ( Karen & Malcolm who escorted the groups in sea-kayaks taking photos for glossy Mags ) and everyone who was in the Meet.

Photos taken are being uploaded, the link will be posted as soon as completed.

For those new to canoeing, you might like to look at the Bill Mason
short films (some on solo and double technique) which are available for
online viewing at the Canadian Film Board. Go to http://www.nfb.ca/ and
enter 'Bill Mason' into the search box. These were only available for
purchase before, but are now free.

A big thanks to Rich, John and David for a fantastic day in the open canoes. You could not have picked a better day. When can we do a river? Very Happy
